I don't know
Hello -
I'm taking possession of a new 2008 205 next week. It has the upgraded stereo, and I plan on adding some tower speakers to it. I'm assuming I'll need to add another amp to power the tower speakers. Not sure how to add two amps to one stereo though. I was wondering if anyone had a schematic for the upgraded stereo system? I'd like to see how it's hooked up so I can get my plan of attack ready.

THANKS!

does anyone know the model # for the stereo or amp?

Any recommendations on wire for the tower speakers would be great too - Right now I'm leaning towards this http://www.redco.com/shopexd.asp?id=462

The stereo should have 2 or 3 sets of RCA output jacks.

One set is for the front channel, one set is for the rear channel and you may possibly have a third set for a sub woofer.

You can just add your new amp to the rear channel RCA set and then the fader on the stereo head unit will also allow you to control the volume of the in-boat speakers versus the tower speakers.

If you only have one set of RCA's I would consider upgrading your Head Unit or you could add a Clarion EQS 746 EQ. That will allow you to use one RCA input and have three outputs.

Use "twisted" RCA cables for the connection to the amp.

For marine use, all of the power and speaker wire should be "tinned".

This is a pretty good place to get wire: http://www.knukonceptz.com/index.cfm

Or here: http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/

The gauge depends on what speakers and amp you are running. I would go as big as you can on the wire though. 12 gauge, if you can get it through the tower.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

I was able to find a parts manual and the stereo is a CLARION M475, I checked the manual and it has three RCA outs. It looks like two for the four speakers and then one for the powered subwoofer. So I'll probably hook it up like you mentioned.

Thanks again- now if it would stop raining I'd go boating
