2008 205 Sport Purchase Questions

I've been looking at a new 2008 205 for sometime and it's now time to start discussing pricing with my MarineMax dealer.. He's shot me an initial offer of 30,500 with a waketower, 5L 220hp. I'm looking to get feedback on this price and how much lower I could expect him to go.

Local prices vary from region to region. Do your research, figure out what's important to you and get your checkbook out.

If the boat above is what you are looking for, try a search under fwebster as the user name and then use search words write, checkbook, buying or salesman. His advice is clear and simple.

The summary goes something like this. Show up in person with your checkbook, ask for a sales agreement, write your terms and price. Then hand the salesman a deposit check with the agreement and be quiet. Tallking about emotional or personal issues why you must have this one will not work in your favor. The salesman will appreciate a real offer and he will take you seriously. Simply remember you are in the driver's seat and you'll figure out if you have bought a boat or not in short order.

I purchased my 2008 Sea Ray 205 sport in august 2008. I give $30,500 but it didn't have the wake tower. It did however have upgraded stereo, depth finder and battery switch. It has the 5.0L 220 hp V8 with full boat cover. Hope this helps with your decision. I thought that was a pretty good deal for me because the same dealer had the same boat without the upgrades at our annual boat show in Louisville, KY for $30,000. Good Luck

I can't recall all of the options on this boat, but if you go to searay.com and build your boat to compare the MSRP of this versus your boat, this was the deal at the Mid-Atlantic Boat show on a 205. That said like someone above said price has alot to do with region demand and supply. Hope this helps...
