hi. New to forum and new to boats. Recently bought 2008 185 Searay sport 4.3 w 62 hours. Great boat but I already chipped the prop. Not sure what is in there by assume it was original. My research shows I need a 14 by 19 size with 4 blades. Would like the hole shot the 19 gives but I am getting various opinions on 14 vs 14.25 vs 14.5. Are these basically the same or is one better? We have 3-4 adults and do some tubing and skiing but nothing to crazy. Not really concerned with topping out speed. Thanks

There are a number of threads on this but typically a 14.25/14.5 by 19 3 blade would be replaced with a 14x19 4 blade. I believe it has to do with drag due to blade surface area.

Thx dizzy.

If you want a noticeable increase in low end pull and driveability fun, switch to a 14 X 17 pitch. Manually keep it from over-revving, which isn't hard, and you'll think that you added 40 HP.
