2007 rendezvous

and finally, my boat is too danged big to go to a rendevouz elsewhere.

It sounds like Panama City/FL Panhandle might be a great time. Hey Frank there was a 48DA trailered up to the TN river for our last MM get away on the river. Never to big for a trailer, but would hate to think how big the tow bill was  :smt043

Well you could always go up the intercoastal or tombigbee waterway, but that might involve a charge not far from $10.00 a mile.

Panama sounds like a good place to me also. I would have an eight hour trip from Greenville to Panama but I would like to go. Now if work does not get in the way....

Have a great day

Paul

I would also have a 7 to 8 hour trip from Midway so I would need to set up some vacation days to make the trip. It does sound nice, I have been to the Gulf once over at Destin and at the time had only seen the Brown water we have here and just could not believe how clear it was there.

Looks like PCB might be the place for us :smt038 Guess Frank and Richard will have to give us some local Intel  Would an early June 1st-14th date range work for most of us?

Just remember that Panama City is a tourist area. The season begins in earnest on Memorial Day, so if you chose the early June time frame, make your reservations early....like before March 15. You can also expect ccrowds at all local amusements and lines in restaurants.

The water will be cool but warm enough to swim in comfortably. The water will also still be gin clear since it still too cool for summer algae to grow. The weather in early June is usually clear and sunny since the nights are still cool enough to keep the heat radiating from the earth to form afternoon thunderstorms.

The area is a boaters paradise with some of everything to see and do.........lots of very good restaurants and land based amusements as well as shopping too.

Uhmm Rich,

Do you think Frank would mind baby sitting a couple of rug rats on his 450?? I understand that Crayons and magic markers do not stain vinyl too badly and the sun should bleach out the remaining remnants over the next couple of years  . Right??

On a more serious note I will be sending a few of you a e-mail with information and contact information for lodgeing.

I will be holding a lottery for my spare bedroom. The largest bribe wins.

SeaRide:

No!........no dead fish, and no rugrats.

Richard:

You should tell prospective guests about that live stock you haul with you when you travel before you hook them up for a lottery....

How about the Fourth of July weekend, Saturday June 30 thru July 4, that would give 5 days total which would be at least 3 full days of doing whatever we decide.

Looks Like I can only do a longer trip in 2007 around the end of May or the 1st of June. Not only that I would not want to be any where near PCB over the 4th. IMHO would be Hot and very crowded

Ok, June, lets throw out some dates and see if we can get everyone together then. June 7-10, Thursday thru Sunday, just a suggestion.

If Ashli and I can dive in this thread, we might be able to join on this. PCB would be a great adventure :smt001 but trailering would probably make this a 10 hour drive to get ours down there (safely hauling nearly three tons with a Ford Explorer takes awhile).

The earlier the better for us so as early as possible in June would get our vote - we'd probably sleep on the boat like last year and with no A/C.... well, you get the idea.
