Does any own or has anyone checked out the new 310 Sundancer? I am about a year away from trading up from the bowrider to cruiser and I have looked at the 260 on up to the 310. The new 310 has some really great features and I really like the layout for our needs. I first thought to start with the 260 and move up after a year or two, but from reading alot of posts, it seems like that is more costly than going for the largest boat you can afford at the time. The 310 would give us some time as there is some extra room to grow into if needed. I was planning on buying something a year or two old instead of new but it looks like this layout is new for 2007? Any thoughts good or bad on this model? I have checked out the 260 and 280 at the boat show, but I havent seen this model yet in person. I would try to wait until I can get a used year old model to save some money and was wondering what month the new models usually come out from Searay if we decided this is the model for us. Any input is appreciated.

I had mixed feelings about the 310 when I saw it. I am not so sure about the built in seat in the Lazarette........I don't think I would want that. And because the transom is inset as far as it is, that also cuts into the cockpit space somewhat too making it feel a bit on the tight side. The lack of a portside lounger is another thing I don't much care for. The cabin was laid out nicely though and the overall quality of the boat is very good. .

I can see what you mean about cutting into the cockpit space...I guess you dont really get a feel for the space until you see it in person. I really like the cabin layout and I am on the fence with the cockpit. I like the extra room and space for the bar, ect, but am not sure about the lack of seating there either.

I appreciate the feedback...I am hoping when the time comes, one of the models will just feel right.......if it were only that easy huh?

We looked at the 2007 310 Sundancer at MM in Clearwater, FL it had the grill option on it.

What we liked the best about it compared to the other was the bed layout. It was in at an angle which provided more bed room for us 6ft+ people this is super nice compared to the others.

If we were upgrading today we would seriously consider the 310 but that's just based on our first looks at it and walking around in and on it.

I, like a lot of people, am not real impressed with the use of space in the cockpit. It is nice to see a change and I like it for that, but I think most people want to maximize the useable seating in the cockpit. I do like the cabins though. As much grief as the new 290 gets, I think the cabin is really nice. I haven't seen the 310 in person, but it seems to be a nice layout too.

This spring boat show I got caught up talking to the sales guy sitting in the cockpit of a 280 unitl the show closed, so I didn't get a chance to see other boats. I really like the 280 and will hopefully move up next year. But I'm like you, I want used and the 290 wouldn't be in the price range I want to spend next year. Also, I agree about buying the biggest boat you can afford. Just like any depreciating high priced item, it is expensive getting in to and out. Boats are probably worse though with all the additional costs. I would love to move up to a 320DA, but running costs would kill me, so the 280DA seems to be a good fit.

I rode the 290 smaller sister to the 310 couple of years ago at the unvailing in Destin Fla. I wrote a very long list of items I did not like about the 290DA. Found too few things to like about the style or layout of that model. :smt009
