With a heavy heart we will be putting our 52DB on the market in March 2018; Our interests and passions as a family have shifted a bit and will sideline boating for a while.

We purchased the 52DB in the fall of 2015 in Georgian Bay; she was a two-owner, freshwater only boat at that point. The first owner was in the Detroit area. The second owners were based in Georgian Bay. They kept her immaculate, but it was evident they didn’t use her much.

In the fall of ’15 we moved her from Georgian Bay to Ft. Myers FL, where she has stayed at Legacy Harbour Marina. We live in Ohio and used the boat as our “place” in FL. We expected to move her around Florida, but we became very comfortable with Ft. Myers, the marina, and the group of people there that maintain her. Under our care she has taken us on many great trips around Florida and the Keys. We will be taking her on one last trip in March up the Florida West coast and will be selling after that.

This yacht is well optioned and has many upgrades that we recently performed. If you are interested in a 52DB you probably know all the standard items. We have maintained this boat without exception and have had many updates and upgrades done in the last two years. If you are seriously interested we encourage you to talk to our marina and mechanics regarding the care, updates, and maintenance of our boat. Here’s a list of some of the notable items:

- Stern hydraulic lift/platform - These boats originally came with hydraulic davits that were mounted in the transom locker but this was removed for the more preferred hydraulic swim platform. The platform comfortably holds our 11’ Walker Bay Generation 340 Console RIB with a 2015 40HP Yamaha which will be included with the boat
- Cummins QSM11 660HP engines (910 hours) with Cummins Onan 15KW generator (1250 hours).
- Stern Thruster (Vetus bow thruster is standard)
- Dual Garmin GPS-MAP 5212 Multi-Function Displays fully integrated through a NEMA 2000 data backbone.
- Garmin 48” HD Open Array Radar
- Satellite TV
- FLIR Night Vision
- Fusion Stereo & Amp & Cockpit Remote, JL Audio subs & speakers (Flybridge & Cockpit)
- Cockpit video camera displayed on the Garmin MFD’s
- Corinthian carpet installed in the cockpit & flybridge – 2017
- Almost all interior lighting updated with LED lamps.
- Navigation/Anchor lighting updated with LED lamps
- New flybridge glass (all around) (The aft curtain glass is now showing some aging, I’m scheduling that replacement)
- Flybridge windscreen attachment upgrade (Kit by Taylorcraft)
- Drivetrain and engine exhaust system updates to reduce cruise engine load and exhaust pressures (a known issue with these Cummins powered boat)

Here’s a partial list of maintenance items and replacements we performed.

- Twice monthly wash, motor & generator start & monitor
- Monthly bottom cleaning
- Quarterly wax
- Cummins 800 hour service
- Oil/filter/lubrication/zincs/impeller serviced annually
- Aftercoolers serviced
- New starboard starter
- New battery chargers (house, bow thrust, stern thruster)
- New batteries (house 2015, bow thruster 2015, stern thruster 2017)
- New port cabin AC
- New freshwater pump
- New AC pump
- Waste system refresh including filters
- Prop re-pitch and balance.
- Complete re-caulk of the boat exterior seams including rub-rail (hull-deck attachment) and below.
- New depth transducer
- New ship's automatic fire extinguisher
- Port exhaust head & turbocharger
- New cockpit ice-maker
- Hydraulic lift service and rebuild (by manufacturer)

She’s a fantastic vessel and will serve her next owner well.

@BeeBoating - Very random that I came across this post. Noticed you had her at Legacy Harbour before you sold. Do you know if the current owners lost your old girl in the storm? :(

Hello Matt B. Funny saying that, because I am also Matt B. Also funny since we purchased our 52 from Georgian Bay - Barrie sounds very familiar.

I lost track of our 52. I think the purchaser kept it in the general area - not sure how that turned out.

We bought a Riviera in early 2020 and kept it at LHM until May of this year when we sold her. We lucked out. Still can’t fathom the destruction so far inland.

Is this your 17? Beautiful boat. Ohio port name on transom?

It was. The purchaser moved her to Sarasota. Two days before Ian hit I thought she was a goner for sure in Sarasota. Turned out Sarasota was just fine - Ft Myers decimated.

Sadly, the purchaser passed away a few months after buying her - that’s why you see the listing. The listing photos are the ones our broker produced for our sale.
