I have this input on the side of the cabinet to the left of the main control panel. I plugged my ipod in and it doesnt play. Does anyone know what this is for?

Did you try switching the head unit to 'aux'? If you did apparently some of the 'aux' inputs have the tv plugged in there from the factory.

It is not an input, but an output jack for a headset. The Clarion radio has auxiliary input jacks (red input jacks on the back of the radio) but Sea Ray did not hook them up for you. You have to pull the radio out to get access to them. I did on mine and brought them down to a 4 channel switch box a mounted in the small cabinet under the electrical control cabinet. On mine I use one channel for the auxiliary input from my Raymarine Sirius Radio, the other channel brings in the audio from my TV, and I have two spares.

This is a picture of the switch box, and has you can see one of the auxiliary inputs is on the top of the unit giving me an easy access point if I want to plug in something portable.

What brand is that switch box, and does it have the composite video connections for each of those inputs? These are getting harder to find:huh:

+1. I can't confirm that it is an output, I was never able to figure out what it did. However, thanks to input from Bill and others on this board found the correct input wire hanging from the back of the stereo (it had a plug in it) and ran an extension wire for my IPOD up to my dash.

I found the Aux sensitivity setting after playing with the menu button. I changed it from Med to HIGH by turning the volume knob and still don't get any sound. I suspect that the AUX cable coming from the jack is not plugged into the correct RCA jacks on the back of the radio. I'm not sure what it is plugged in to. I'm going to plug one of these into one of the 2 sets of available RCA jacks not being used on the back of the radio. My understanding is that one set of plugs is an output for an amp and the other is an input for AUX. I will have to experiment since I don't know which is which. One set is very short coming out of the back of the radio and the other set is part of the wire cluster.

If that works, then I know that the issue is between the jack and the radio.

This is the installation manual for the unit:

I believe the aux input are the 2 wires that are both red coming out of the back of the unit. I had to stick my camera in to take this picture since I couldnt see them, just feel them. They were capped, but I took the caps off.

My 07 32 has a input jack on the side of the cabinet for an I-pod. Unfortunately as I mentioned in an earlier post that it was wired wrong at the factory and you have to pull the radio out and switch the wires for it to work.

when I bought my boat the i pod did not work so my son in law computer engineer searched on line and found out that all 32s in 07 hooked the i pod wires wrong and they give a digram on which colors to switch. With that being said and 6 hrs later removing the breaker panel unhooking wire harness you could only feelwith your hand and see with a mirror we switched the wires.

They were all wired wrong. Had to pull my head unit and the power line pulled lose from the connecting harness on the head unit. 3 hours later had the ipod connector hooked up as listed above.

Does anyone know the years this affected. My cousin just bought a used '05 320DA and I want to let him know about it.

Seems to be 07 and 06 - 320's. They person had it hooked up wrong. Just be careful when pulling the head unit out with the wire bundles - they are bundled tight. Should be a 5 minute fix if everything goes well.

Thanks guys I'll ask him if it already works and if not we have a good leg up to fix it.

Hi All,
I have the Clarion XMD1 with a Six Disk CD Changer mounted just below the head unit on my 2003 320DA. I want to replace the XMD1 with the new Fusion MS-IP600G that has the ipod docking station. My question is will the CD changer plug in to an AUX in the new unit and will my stereo remote up by the helm be able to control the Fusion Stereo?
Thanks,
Jeff
