2006 270 SD 27’, pending final purchase

    270 sundeck 2006, mercruiser 6.2
    Mercruiser 6.2 320HP, bravo III
    Offer accepted and surveys complete. No major issues. Suggested needs manifolds, risers and pulleys. Cylinders read 130-155 psi. Anyone know of any other major potential concerns I should be aware of?

    A few transom moisture readings would be good. Most recent tune up dates would be important to know.
    And agree, more than a 10% difference in compression is concerning.

    1989 3600 Convertible. 2017 Scout 175 sportfish.
    2002 Cummins 6BTA 330hp diesel straight shaft.
    Is it a saltwater raw water cooled engine and bravo 3 drive? If so it's due for bravoittis.

    So I received the oil analysis. Very high content of metals, iron, lead, sodium, aluminum. So the boat has not had service in two yrs and hadn’t been driven for a least 6 months. We my mechanic who surveyed said to have the owner change oil and filter and then run the boat for 7-10 hours and the well do another analysis. So well see

    When the transom water tube corrodes shut causing engine overheating. Reasonably common.

    That doesn't sound very good. I just purchased my first boat a week ago. It's a 93 sundancer 270. I had it surveyed for moisture. And the previous owner had it recovered 2 years ago. It currently has 140hrs on the new 496mag.
