Aloha,
What is the current approximate ocean fuel consumption at a cruising speed of 3300-3500 that fellow 300 owners with twin 5.0 MPI Bravo II MCM Stern Drives can quote me?? Just bought and curious on do’s and dont’s of this engines fuel consumption.

Welcome to the Club... What an awesome place to boat. No help on ocean fuel consumption but river consumption is 1.4 MPG. I am sure yours will be much more in anything other than quiet seas.

I have the same boat/power with bravo III - the sweet spot is 3800 RPM at 30 MPH - fully loaded 1 mpg - light load with ideal conditions 1.2 mpg

Mahalo for your replies. Ok next question, what company is best to order replacement canvas/tops? I got quote from searaycanvas.com. For the Bimini top/valance, sunshade top/valance and camper top only it came to $2661 and then another $350 fedex to Hawaii. I also called Great Lakes but they don’t have Sundancer 300 available and it would be a custom order and I would have to provide measurements which I don’t want to be responsible for errors. Oh and the local marine place here on Oahu doesn’t have access to sea ray products. Any suggestions ?

Next question: has anyone ever had to replace the port fuel pump on their Sundancer? We have twin 5.0’s bravo II. had mechanic check it out and he said maybe it’s just a broken washer or seal inside. Are these easy to rebuild/ has anyone tried. Because we want to avoid buying new one which we priced at $1200

For your canvas I would check eBay. Canvas shows up for sale from time to time. Surprised that Great Lakes replied that way. We have a member on our Forum also does Canvas hopefully he will chime in...

Great Lakes has the pattern, so I'm not sure why they told you that. 2005 300DA is same as my 2006. Here's a quote from 7 years ago for reference. They often run promotions for 20% off. Good luck.

yes - i have bought great lakes pieces too - they definately have it - given the high price of shipping, why not just have it custom made locally - i find the great lakes pieces fit "sloppy" and then you need to invest in a high quality "sailright" snap tool to finish the job the right way.....as far as the pumps are concerned, you have the dreaded cool fuel III system - lots of ink spilled on the problems and upgrades - there are two pumps inside - a lift pump and a high pressure pump that feeds the FI - if your fuel pressure is low when you turn the ignition on or when running the most likely cause is the "paint flake" issue - second most likely is the degridation of a small rubber connector that hooks the pump to the cover - the pumps themselves rarely go bad - if you cant hear the pump when the ignition is first turned on, its likely a relay - search cool fuel 3 on this forum - a lot of good info
