Boatless
Greetings Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am in the market for another boat, i'm stepping it up from the Suntracker pontoon I sold years ago and want to join y'all in the big leagues. I have searched high and low, from late 90's to early 2000's 260's and up. I recently came across an 05 280, Twin 4.3 with 660/670hrs for well under what I see most boats that year (or near) going for. It is seriously too good to be true and well, we know the saying.

I am waiting to hear his response regarding service records (which he states "serviced yearly"). My initial thought is "this thing needs 2 engines, 2 outdrives, leaks everywhere, just a major headache that he wants gone".

What do y'all think?

Thank you.

Not much information to go on here... get a survey.

Best of luck and welcome to CSR!

Sounds like you haven’t seen the boat in person.

Go see it for yourself and check it out.

Upholstery, Gelcoat, Make sure the accessories work,
Start it up, go for a ride if he lets you.

If you still like it, get a survey and go from there.

Don't have enough information to give an opinion

+1 on the survey. I didn't get a survey and when I went to investigate a fuel smell I found nothing but rot the whole way up..

If you gut is telling you it's too good to be true, then it probably is. Go take a look, but be very cautious.
