I am looking for my air conditioning compressor/Blower. I would like to inspect it and service it. Where is it located at on the boat?

Have you physically looked for it and couldn't find it, or just posting first? It will be behind the large, return grille. Stbd side v-berth or mid-cabin. You can check your manual, if you want (downloadable, too).

Well the manual that I have found shows it under the stbd seat cushion down in the cabin just forward of the coat closet. It is not there? Yes I have been physically looking for it. I know where the seacock is, the water pump, the grills, the temp control. I cant find the air conditioning compressor/Blower, it has to be close to where the water is ported overboard stbd side. Have you got a picture or diagram?

The AC is accessible via the mid cabin if it is stock. At the back of the cabin is an access panel and the return air grate.

It can also be accessible from the top if you remove the pocket on the side wall at the helm.

Ok I go back down in the mid cabin and pull that panel and have another good look in there. Thanks for the help guys

It varied in location over the years. It's definitely one of those two places.

Go to where your dinette is located pull up the cushion on the left hand side and you will see the AC unit. There are two filters to clean.

Found it in the mid cabin berth behind the access panel. Thanks for the help.

Previously I had a 2003 260 Sundancer and I had nearly everything apart at one time or another while I owned her. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

How does the return grille come off? Does it pull straight off or what? What do I need to do for a service in there?

I believe mine just

If I remember correctly the grate just pulled out. There was a filter behind it. As far as servicing goes I never did anything from back there unless there was a problem. Maybe just an occasional vacuuming and cleaning of the unit.

Kevin,

In the mid cabin where the vent and return air grille, that entire panel comes out? Because there’s no way in hell you can service through the vent lol

IIRC, on my 2003 260 the grill just pulled out. Depending on what you need to do the entire wall does come down with a bit a disassembly. However, if you remove the cubby next to the helm chair you will also have some access to the A/C unit from the top.
