Hi, I'm new to the club so bear with me. I am trying to figure out the battery set-up in my boat, I have two sets of 2 batteries, 1 port and 1 starboard location. I'm trying to figure out which set runs what to avoid running them down as where I boat there is no shore power. I'm told 3 are house and one remains isolated for starting? I want to install a solar panel but to what bank for best results
Any one help with some info

Mine is an 03, an not the international version, but I just recently verified my layout with a clamp on amp meter. The two paralleled port batteries start the port engine and power everything fed from the DC panel in the cabin. The two paralleled starboard batteries start the starboard engine and power everything controlled from the helm. I didn't verify what starts the generator. I am assuming it is the starboard set of batteries. Keeep in mind, at least on my boat, if you run one set down there is a battery parallel switch next to the ignition switches at the helm that will allow you to "jump start" the weak side

just trace the wires from the starters on the engines and the genny to see which battery they are connected to...as was said before the two battery bank wired in parallel will be your house battery bank...
