2004 280 Sundancer Water in Bilge

Being a new boat owner, I see the bilge in the engine compartment is holding some (not much) water. Keep in mind that the gel coat has fake off in areas and the water is oozing from under the broken gel flakes. The area can be dried, but water will ooz again. (1 ounce per hour) Is considered normal?

In a word, no. It is not normal for a boat to have water ooz into the bilge. You have a leak somewhere. Pix would help as the location of the leak may not be at all related to final location of the water unless you actually see the water oozing from the flaked glass.
