Looking at getting into this boat from what we have now. What do you guys think a fair price would be to purchase this at the end of the season? Boat has 600-700 hours. Overall good shape. Missing ice maker, missing washer dryer, nothing has been updated electronics wise. Needs rear eisen glass. Needs a exterior detail and bottom paint.

Any things to steer away from?

A year ago, 2005 390MY, Cummins, most all the options and all was in fine shape. 1250 hours. 180,500.

One suggestion, find out if the engines have first or second generation heads. The difference being the latter had improved valve seat material. Also you might review Tony Athens from Seaboard marine, comments regarding the 480 and overproping.

Thanks. So $150-160k with 650 hours and all aftercoolers and turbos cleaned and inspected is a good price I would think on at 2003?

As for the head design upgrade on the valve seats ....I have read up on Tony's site and propping to the 450 curve. This boat shows no signs of over heating indicating high EGT temps so I don't think it was ever overrun. Sea trial will show the GPH and if they are inline. I will get the serial numbers off the engine. Once I do get them how can I find out what generation they are? Call Cummins direct or is there information availiable online? Thanks !

The serial numbers for the heads are on the heads. Your surveyor should be able to find them. Any Cummins dealer should be able to research which generation they are.

as for the price, any broker should be able to pull the selling price of a particular boat for a particular area, in my case we compared sales on the east coast

good luck

Thanks for the input.

Im going to sea trial on wednesday. Any items specifically I should be on the look out with boat itself and or motors other then the obvious?
