Purchased a 2003 260da with 350 mag BIII past spring, it had 290 hours on it. Running in fresh water Lake Erie. I have been watching gauges fairly closely. My engine temp after warm up stays steady at around 190 deg F and the oil pressure is around 40 psig under load 3600-4000 rpm and drops to around 15 psig on idle after a run. Are these typical type numbers for this engine. The engine does not use any oil, clean on the stick. I have put about 15 hours on the motor since purchase. My previous boat had a 350 - 260 hp Merc Alpha 1 and ran at much lower 160 deg F water temp and higher 60 psig oil pressures, it had 450 hours on it.

Your oil pressure seems ok. Your temp seems high. Raw water cooling 160 ish is ok. Closed cooling, mine runs between 170 and 180. I don't know what kind of cooling you have. All that stuff needs maintnance.
