Does anyone have a 2003 340 that they have installed davits on and are happy with them? Trying to decide the best choice which doesn't make LOA much longer and is hopefully removeable when not being used. I also want to be able to keep the outboard on the dinghy at all times. If any 340 owners have personal experience here...it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

While I don't have a 340, I have been doing research on the same thing for my 320, and have it narrowed down to between Nautley davits and hurley davits. What I like about the Nautley (sold on ebay or thru dingyramp.com) is the model HD+ that has rollers which should make it easier to bring the dinghy back up, and it also quickly disconnects and comes off if you don't have the dinghy on your boat all the time. However they are more expensive than the hurley. I am getting a 10'6" Aakron inflatable air floor and also still deciding on the motor.

Good luck and let me know what you decide and how it goes.

PS, you might want to have this thread moved to the Dinghy forum..

I'll be the first to agree I don't care for the "look".
But- it was the only game in town (at least for my boat). The "tilt-up" davits I looked at didn't work on my platform.
And removing/reinstalling an 80lb outboard every time I wanted to use the dinghy- and storing it in the interim- wasn't an option.
I keep the dinghy on a floating jet ski dock; slide it up to the platform and winch it up when I want to bring it along. During "fishing time" (which is winter/now) they are very easy to remove and stow (they're off in my sig pic). When we want to go island hopping, ten minutes and they're back on.

If you have another suggestion, I'm all ears...

I have a 9'6" dinghy with a fiberglass floor and a 9.9 four stroke. I just had an extended platform installed and went with a set of used hurley davits... Hopefully this will work well!

With an extended platform, that should work well. Please, post photos of the platform with/without the dinghy.
