looking to upgrade to 8M0075245 gen II remote controls from older style can anyone tell me if the newer style will cover to old hole? I don't mid making it bigger but don't want to add material to cover any voids... thanks

I would also be interested in doing this on my 2007 300DA

I had my controls upgraded on my 2002 300DA with no issues. They are night and day difference from the quicksilver controls. You will have to upgrade the shift cables as well.

I upgraded(my previous upgrade) on my 2001 340 DA that has sterndrive. It's an electronic control module (Glendinning Smart Actuator II). This took a smaller profile than the original space but you could do a similar platform to fit. It is a hard plastic material and

is glued down over the larger hole and the new unit fits in perfect and looks great!

I will be replacing the throttle cables as well, but aren't the original cables Gen II already?
Any pics you can share of your installation would be appreciated. I am starting my research this week for a spring installation.
