I have a 2003 300 Sundancer and the black rubber matting on the back of the cockpit carpets is crumbling and leaving stains on the deck. Any suggestions to prevent this any further, or do I need new carpets? I have since taken the carpets out. Thanks, Mark

I would do a search on this, there are many discussions about similar problems. snapincarpet.com seems to be the place to go for new carpet. I sent them templates for my boat.

Thanks for the responses. Did you have to do anything special before you applied the grizzly grip, or did you just rolled it over the rubber?

Mine were a real mess so I scraped off all the old dry rubber with a wire brush, vaccumed the back with a shop vac and then applied two coats of the fine textured black grizzly grip. I used 1 gallon and 1 quart to put two coats on my carpets. The coating sticks like iron to the old stuff and is totally flexible. It also provides a excellent non skid surface to hold the carpets in place so the snaps are not nessissary. It also adds some additional sound insulation capability to the rugs. All in all if the carpet is still in good shape, like mine was this is worth the trouble to extend the life of the rugs.
