Engines
5.0 117 hrs
It has a 5.0 and a Bravo II with just 117 hrs. I'm very new to boating, and would use this on the Indian and St. Lucie River in Florida. It would be in dry storage until I call to put it in the water. Anything special I should look for and should I get a Boat Inspector to take a look.

Thanks..

Get a good survey and make sure it includes the engine. That's a very low hour count for a 14 year old boat. I'd potentially be concerned that it sat "too much".

And welcome!

Definitely get a survey. I would expect a significant amount of deferred maintenance. Its clear it wasn't used so it will need many items replaced.

Welcome!

Always have a survey done. It is imperative.

Good luck.

I hired a mechanic to survey the engines, and a surveyor to do the rest of the boat, and I paid to have the engine oil analyzed (one boat had sodium in the oil at high levels, an indication there was some amount of salt water getting into the oil. Engines ran great, but for how much longer? I passed on that one and found a Sea Ray.

Thanks to all of you that responded to help me out. The boat is MINE now. It passed all the inspections and sea trial. I just got the oil changed and ready to take her out. I'm happy it is a nice boat, and handles very well, and the Wife Unit likes the head. Should be good to go.

Congrats! Let's see a picture of the new toy!

20170124_135721 - Copy.jpg New to me now. I was going to only look for a 20-21' but the "Wife Unit" wanted a Head, so I bought my 2nd boat first that gave her a few extras.
