2003 240SD No dashlights

I am trying to repair the instrument lights on my 240SD. I pulled the instrument cluster and was suprised to see that all the instuments are "daisy chained" together. They all have the same 3 wires going to them. That tells me that they are all digital including the speedometer. Can anyone tell me which color wire is the data line, ground, and 12v?? The wiring schematic that is in the owners manual is not correct. It shows a pressure tube for the speedometer and there is no instrument lighting shown. Thanks MikeR.:smt100

Figured it out. The "SmartCraft" computer controls the dash lights.......:wow: Duh.

Was it the bulb or somthing else?

Nope. Operator error. This was the first time we had used the boat (new boat) and I had no idea how to turn the lights on. I expected them to come on when I turned in the navigation lights. The our old Sea Ray was that way so this one should be that way too!!! Yes?? :smt043

Anyway I finally got in touch with one of the service guys at our local dealership and he told me how too turn them on. MikeR.

THe button on the bottom right corner of the SmartCraft computer turns on the instrument lights.

Maybe you didn't get the manuals with this boat but if you did it would be worth it to read them.

I did get the manuals and believe it or not I read through them all before we took the boat out for the first time. Something too do while the snow flakes were falling in early March. The manuals for both the boat and the SmartCraft do not clearly indicate that the SmartCraft controls ALL the instument lights. I even reviewed the electrical schematic for the boat and it indicates that the boat does not have instrument lights.
