- Mercury MerCruiser 4.3L Thunderbolt V Ignition Ser. # 0M362593
I have a 2002 SeaRay 182 with a 4.3L merCruiser engine and has less that 300 hrs on it.
last used was a 24 Jun and it operated outstanding. (today is 4 July)
I always run my boat in my dooryard before each use and bring engine temp up and make sure everything is running properly. As always the check that day was fine.
The fuel is not old and is treated with Seafoam.
There is fuel being delivered to carb.
The fuel pump is operating.
When ignition is attempted it sounds as though it was to start.
When key is turned i can hear two quick chirps (chirp chirp) before the constant beeeeeeeeeep is heard when key is turned.
I purchased an ignition tester--inline with a light. tested each cylinder. NO light on any of the cylinders--indicating that no power is being delivered to the spark plugs. Most of what i have read indicates that i may have a bad ignition coil. Any comments, questions, or concerns are welcome. Please help.
