Last month the circuit breaker for AC Converter 2 on deck under the sink tripped and will not reset.

I found that this is the AC Converter 2 is the charger for the battery that supplies power to the cabin lights and other DC items. When we stay on the boat for a couple of days hooked to shore power and use the cabin lights and then try to start the motor, the battery is totally dead.

I think I need to replace the #2 Converter but I'm not sure where it is and would like suggestions of what other people have done to correct this problem. I searched and located a Xantrex Trucharger 2 40a inside the engine bay but I was expecting 2 smaller units one for Port and one for starboard.

I’m kinda new to this as well but I do have a 2001 310 as well. I believe your converters are one unit located in the engine room. I have stern drives and it is located on the port side of the bow wall of the engine room. You can download the parts manual from the sea ray site, very useful for understanding your boat.

Breakers can go bad, so you might want to test that first. Cheaper fix to replace than than the charger.

The "2" in Trucharger 2 might mean it's a 2-bank charger (converter) and handles both port and starboard. Read the manual.

ProMainer ProNautic chargers are OK replacements usually at decent prices... if you need to go that route.
