2001 Sea Ray 290 Sunsport Top Speed other tips?

Hello All!

I am looking at purchasing a 2001 Sea Ray 290 Sunsport. It has twin Mercruiser 5.7L EFI 260 hp each Bravo I . I am having a hard time determining the top and cruse speed with the engine configuration. The seller is telling me WOT Top Speed is 52 and cruse ~38 (best fuel). Can anyone confirm these speeds are accurate?

Any other tips from someone who has captained this boat.

Sounds like it's in the ballpark. I have 250HP carbed with Alphas. She'll do 47 fully-loaded.

38 sounds high for best fuel. I think 30 feels better for cruising speed, but I don't have meters and I learned some time ago that economy cannot be "felt".

My twin carbed 5.7 alpha 280ss would break 50. I agree cruise sounds a bit high. 38 MPH is probably 3500 RPM. A 30-32 MPH cruise is probably more realistic.
