Does anyone know if a "In Hull" mounting of the transducer for a Humminbird Fishfinder 525 in a 2001 Sea Ray Bowrider will work OK.
I would prefer to mount in hull rather than on back of transom

Any thoughts???

Not sure about the humminbird brand, but does it have a water temperature feature? If it does, it will not work. That is one of the reason I went with a in the water transom mounted transducer.

It is supposed to work - I have a Humminbird on mine but went with the transom mount for the temperature reading. You should be able to use the exact same sensor and just bed with expoxy as listed in the instructions. They have a test procedure you can do which will tell you if the location you have chosen is working correctly at speed, etc.

Maybe I don't understand.
Do you have the factory(Lowrance) Depth finder already and you want to use that transducer to attach to your Hummingbird?

or do you not have one now and will be installing it as a fresh installation?
