My wife and I love our Sea Ray, but have decided we would like to upgrade to a 340 or 360. Anyone interested in a nice 280?

We have owned the boat since 2008. She has new (Not reman) engines with less than 100 hours, new manifolds, canvas. Boat is turn key ready as we have been using it every weekend this summer. She is fully loaded with A/C, Genny, Floscan, complete set of spares (belts, sensors), clean bilge, but the best option is the factory/dealer mattress. This boat sleeps awesome! This mattress is not a memory foam cut to fit. It is a professionally done installation. This includes modifying the v-berth locker doors to allow them to open with the mattress on.

Bad time to sell... Probably priced on the high side for the market but best of luck to you!

You craigslist link does not work.

Jordan,
I think its always a bad time to sell. interesting you say the price is on the high side. I searched all 280's on the East coast. I only found 2 at a lower price on boarder, that had twins. There were a couple in their 20's, but they were singles. Only one of the 20 some I found had a trailer available. Prices are always a starting punt for negotiations, I am just not looking to entertain any low ball offers. WE ould like to upgrade, but if we can't get a reasonable price, we will continue to cruise it next season.

Maybe this link is better?

Assuming good shape, that's actually quite a fair price. Even without the genny, it's a good price. Add in the genny and it's sounding like a very nice deal for someone.

Thanks Lazy, That is good to hear. It is in really nice shape, Low hours on new (not reman) engines, recent manifold, camper canvas, transom assembly (proper way to fix leaky string pin IMHO), outdrive, all the toys (ac/gen/windlass/spot,Custom mattress, LED lighting, floscan, cockpit cover, flush/winterization valves, spare parts inventory), and optional trailer, it will make a nice boat for someone. If it doesn't we will be cruising her next year!

We took her out last night to watch the attempted rocket launch, and she did beautiful! If we didn't wish she was 6' bigger, we would never think of getting rid of her.

Mike

Please stop talking. You're starting to get MY wheels turning about getting a new boat!!! :smt001

I think that's more than a fair price. I know someone on this board who had a 2001 280DA that sold it 8 months or so ago, no genny but it pristine condition and he got $50K for it here in Florida.

@ Lazy, talk talk talk talk
@Bucit - For 50k, I "could" be persuaded to deliver it!

I could not imagine not having a genny anymore. I used to laugh at the people that come to the tiki bar, run their penny all day and use a button to raise and lower their anchor. Now I am one!

Thanks David. I have always intended asking prices as "starting point," both in selling, and buying. Just trying to weed out the low-ballers, because I would like to sell it, but don't need to see it. Last time I checked, the book on the trailer was around $3,500, since it is a 2008.

What's your zip code? What's the total weight with trailer ready to go? Salt?

Wow, total weight? I think that has been a discussion on the 280 page a few times. Specs is 8,000lbs for the boat, add 100galx8lbs = 800lbs fuel. The dealer says the trailer weighs 2,100 lbs. So I guess total would be around 10,900, add 1,100lbs for stuff puts it at 12,000? The boat is in 22443 zip. Actually neither salt or fresh, they call it brackish?

So i guess 1/2 salt. i always weigh my load. i am just suprised more people don't do that. thanks for the info.

Al, have never weighed because the marina is only about 7 mils from my house. Gets trailered spring/fall and pulled to clean and drive fluids.

The drives had corrosion issues when I bought the boat in 2009, but have been replaced. The manifolds/risers/engines were replaced in 2011/2012, so saltish should not be an issue for many years.

You need to also figure in for twins, add a engine and drive, and add for generator. I think you'll find your boat w/trailer will go over 13K.
