2000 410 Sundnacer

Awwww...someone missed me. I was thinking about it but I am too old to learn how to speak "southern". Have you done your annual engine replacement yet?

I have a couple of mid-20 year olds with me this year on the trip up. We plan on Atlantic City Wednesday and Thursday.

So, Thursday might be a possibility. Anything for them to do in the neighborhood?

Highball, I agree completely. Don't get me wrong--diesel would be nice, but it just isn't worth the expense for my type of boating, nor the hassle of repairs, smell, etc. I'm sure there will come a day this season when things get hairy around the dock that I say "gee, the diesels would be nice right about now," but I trust that won't happen too often. On my maiden voyage, I had to back the 410 into a slip that was not my first choice and I did it with no problems at all--in front of a crowd, no less! In fact, I couldn't believe how easy she was to dock compared to my Formula 34 PC.

Keep it up and I'll go whining to the moderator that you are hurting my feelings...

Maybe we need a new Forum: "Hurt Feelings Forum" where everyone can go to vent at everyone they don't like and then get a group hug.

Ha! Made myself laugh.

The "new" motors have been in for 2 1/2 years and have about 300 hours on them...

What hurt my wallet this year was new electronics.

Yep. That is what started the whole upgrade process. I went to open the clamshell to do an inspection and one of the bolts broke off. I have it sitting in the garage and have to drill the bolt and easy-out it. In the meantime, that was my excuse for purchasing all new stuff. I managed to squeak an e127 in place of the RL80C and went with a closed array since the open array was $2500 more and I don't need $2500 worht of "cool factor" that comes with a spinning array.

Once I got the damn clamshell open, there wasn't a drop of water in there so I could have forgone the inspection. Such is life.

Once you get accustomed to the touch-screen, I'll be interested to hear how often you find yourself using the keys. People often say that touch-only interfaces are too imprecise, but that hasn't been my experience at all.

I'm in the process of replacing the electronics on my "new to me" boat. My installer told me that the e127 wouldn't fit where the original R41XX screen was so I'm going with the e97. Was it a tight squeeze for you? I know they may have tweaked the layout of the dash a bit in 2001 compared to 2000 so maybe that gives you some extra space. My equipment isn't in yet so I'm just wondering if it's possible to go with the e127 instead of the e97 and it doesn't seem like the incremental cost is that much.

If you can hold up a day or two, the guy down the dock has a 2000 410DA. I can measure his dash when I go down there tomorrow. I bought a new panel from Technographics so the install would look factory. It is a tight squeeze and there is no room for error in cutting the hole, but, it does fit, at least on a 2001 410DA.
