2000 340 - Can't get NORCOLD replacement fridge thru companion way

Looks and handles like a new boat. The refrig died. NORCOLD. Went to NORCOLD and asked for replacement fridge since the model I had was not repairable. The replacement refrig is 1" too big for the doorway to downstairs - after all possible removal of attached items to the fridge.
Is it possible to remove the sliding door leading downstairs and carry the new unit to below?

If that is too risky - to remove and reinstall major parts of the interior - to get to the sliding door ... is there a refridge that will functionally and physically replace the original NORCOLD and fit thru the door opening?

Before you go to the trouble of removing doors, take the old fridge out and get the exact measurements of that unit and the size of the enclosure. The replacement may not fit the old enclosure. Also look into buying a new compressor, fan and any controls for your existing unit if the cabinet is in good condition. There may also be inserts available to refresh the front of the old door. One of our local heating/cooling contractors used to replace the guts of old units. While he was pricey, it saved lot of aggravation.

I'm sure it's very difficult to remove the sliding door. What about the refrigerator door... did you take that off?

My Norcold went T.U. In my 1999 340 a few years back. Was able to buy the complete chiller for it. All I had to do is remove the fridge from the opening and remove the complete chiller and install new on. Total time to do the whole thing less than 2 hrs. Part was like 700.00.

I replaced it with a vitrifrigo 115, and I removed door and flang off norcold and compressor and coil bent and layer on top. Came out zero issues...

New one removed door and went in no issues. Also used the “norcold flange kit” basicly 2 inch flange vs the stock 1” the fridge came with. And went right in...

Do you have any more pictures of your install or the inside of the fridge? I think I'm gonna need to upgrade my fridge pretty soon and really like how yours looks. My 01 is identical to yours so is perfect reference.

I have looked through the forum and there are a couple different vitririgo 115 models. C1151BD4-F-1 and C115IXD-F. Which one did you install. I have a 2002 340 and the fridge stopped cooling last weekend. Thanks in advance.

Just installed the Vitrifrigo c115bdf with flange kit in my 2002 340 DA quiet bigger inside too +15% as a bonus.
