I'm glad you brought that to my attention, rod went through oir pan on original engine, I'm would like to get as much HP that I can out of a 5.7 with Bravo 3 outdrive, I'm not a mechanic, I'm a bodyman by trade.I'll also add that your existing "260HP" is the power measured at the prop. Not always, but often, when you're buying an engine from some place, they may list the crankshaft HP, not the propshaft HP. Moral of the story... don't assume that you're getting 70HP more. Check and verify.
I had the same boat/engine as you. Truth be told, I was always very happy with the combo and even had no problems skiing behind it. That said, NEVER in the history of boating, have the words "I should've gotten the smaller engine" been said!I'm glad you brought that to my attention, rod went through oir pan on original engine, I'm would like to get as much HP that I can out of a 5.7 with Bravo 3 outdrive, I'm not a mechanic, I'm a bodyman by trade.
"FOOD FOR THOUGHT", THANKSIf it was me, I would be re-powering that boat with a 6.2L. You have the bravo drive that can take the hp.
