We are looking for a longer bomini that provides sun shade over the entire back cockpit? I called Great Lakes Boat Top and they do not offer. They said it is customer. Does anyone have this type of bimini? Or can recommend a canvas shop in Georgia?

We do have a rear bimini that extends over the rear seat so at high noon everything in the cockpit is shaded. The negative is when the winter glass is up it makes the back very square. Not the most stylish.

I can't recommend a GA shop but there's got to be one. Ask lots of questions to find the best.

And... check around in your marina (or neighborhood) for other boats that may have had canvas work done.

Do you have a picture of the shade???
I boat in Egypt and shading the cockpit is a must!!
thanks

It sounds like you are looking for the camper package, but with out the eisenglass side panels:smt089

The Admiral has been after me to do this since we got the boat. Since that was 9 years ago, I am now convinced that she really wants it, and it isn't just a passing fancy. Either that, or she is now out to prove a point. Either way, continued peaceful co-existance demands I address the request. Actually, I want it too, I just have never decided how to go about it.

I have the same boat (2000 340DA). My local canvas guy wants $1700 to build an extension to the existing sunshade. He has apparantly done this a lot on various boats around here. His version zips to the existing shade (where the original camper sides attach), then uses struts and braces at the corners for rigidity and tension. That price does not include the camper sides - those can be added later - I haven't asked for a cost on that yet.

Those of you who have done this - do you have a preference between complete replacement (like JediJD did - with or without the cool cantilever design) or an extension? I can see us leaving ours up most of the time - but rolling it up for moonlight cruises and such.

We have a 2003 340 Sundancer and had a camper canvas added to the boat when we purchased it new - a $5K add-on...absolutely love it...extends our boating season and useability of the boat. It was fabricated by a canvas shop that had a working relationship with the dealer - Prince William Marine, Woodbridge, VA.

Hey Gordon, are the screens on your camper package on the inside or the outside?

Gordon...the smiley in your forward center isenglass...how happy are u with it?

I have the front smilie faces as well, and I love them. They let me unzip, roll up, and snap to get some fresh air. All without having to take each piece or the entire front panel down.
