I have almost 20 hours on my boat so it's time for the 20 hour service. I understand the dealer will change the oil and filter and check all hoses and other connections as well. Any thoughts on whether I should have them change the outdrive lube as well? And does anyone know if the new Bravo3s have the permanently lubed u-joints on them?

The older style Bravo III U-Joints are permanent. Are you in an area where you have to winterize. If so I would wait on the outdrive. If you have the outdrive lube changed. I would have them pull the drive and check the alignment and grease on the coupler. Not that much more money and peace of mind. Since I just replaced my coupler.

The dealer down here does not offer a 20 hour service anymore. I checked all of the hose clamps, but the fluid changes waited until 50 hours.

If you go by the book, Merc suggests but does not require an oil change at 20. The rest comes later.

Dave, check with what your dealer recommends. My dealer suggested waiting until the 50 hour range or end of boating season which ever comes first. Dump it at 50 hours if it is mid season...or dump it at the end of the season if the hours are in that range. I have just over 60 hrs. and our boating season is nearly over. I plan to have the dealer perform the 100 hour service during winter layup.
