I disagree. We are in a huge boat boom. I live in Florida. I scored a 260 Sundancer on a new trailer for the price of a trailer. Huge profit opportunity. What derailed me was a recommendation from someone I trust for a mechanic who turned out to be shit.... I'll be ok. This is just small problem. But seriously, the OP has a vessel that appears to be in excellent condition, maybe it's simply because of the short season up north but I'm shocked it hasn't sold yet

If you had to decide right now, from these two pictures alone, which one would pay 30K for?

I don't understand your point. My boat should be 30k WITH THE BLOWN ENGINE. His boat with his rebuilt motor in that condition should be 50k if not more. Fwiw, my boat has been fully cosmetically refit. All new upholstery, inside and out, biminis, new Garmin, new gauges and trim, new stainless steel sinks and cupholders, new AC pump, new freshwater pump. Tons of updating to make it better than it was when new. Is the layout of the 270 cockpit considered less desirable or something?

Wet, maybe you got burned by bad mechanic, i did, i spent 3 months and $$$ on a guy who told me “one more day” as he replaced parts after parts all summer chasing the problem until i took it to real mechanics at marina next door. Fixed in a week. Learned lesson after spending all fkn summer on blocks. Take it to a reputable mechanic first, pay the man and be done.

Oh yeah, I totally agree and that's what I thought I was doing. This mechanic was recommended by a trusted business associate that had used him before. I guess he didn't fuck him.over the way he fucked me

That's a great looking boat, very very clean. Looks just like my in-law's 1998 270 DJ in terms of layout. Except yours is WAY cleaner and in better condition.

Not sure where else you're advertising but if it hasn't sold people are missing the, er, boat.

Thanks to BoatrBoy for being an AWESOME 16 year owner of this 270DA. He is a meticulous engineer, focused on doing whatever has been needed for this Sundancer to be in great condition ... and we are pleased to be the new owners of this excellently maintained 1999 270!

I live in Florida. Sea Rays aren’t the standard as in the Great Lakes region. Here most run CC’s and outboards. They hate IO’s.
Wet slipping an IO in salt is a sin.

I lived in Chicago. Love freshwater boating and cruising. I’d never buy used saltwater boat. Same reason I wouldn’t buy used car from rust belt.

Believe me. I understand, I live in Tampa. Yes outboards reign supreme on fishing boats but there are a fair amount of I/O's on the no. Fishing boats and people act like salt completely makes boats fall apart! It's overblown. There Are also plenty of lakes in and around Florida too.

Well get this, i was reading about the entomology of the Upper Bay. And its all fresh from the susquehanna to the bridge. Never knew that. So i guess i wasnt as much of an “Old Salt” as I thought I was.
