I have a 1999 SEA RAY 210 - I am trying to fix things on the boat to modernize it. What would you suggest that I change on this boat to make it more comfortable and are there anything aftermarket mod's that you suggest that I look for?

1st on my list would be Marine VHF radio with DSC, LED 2 mile nav lights and all the suggested safety equipment , plus.

If you don't have trim tabs, that would be my 2nd "Gotta Have".

After that this list could be crazy, depending on the condition of the boat, what your needs and desires are.

I have been thinking about completely redoing my dash. I was thinking about a 7 inch nav unit right in the center. Them getting new gauges and have one of them be a 4 in one for water temp, oil pressure, volts, and fuel. This should free up the space I need in the middle of the dash.

Just looked up your model boat and wow, that vision you have for the dash would be some major surgery.

I added a 7" Garmin Echomap 74 SV to mine, but off to the side on a Ram mount.

Our boats, being on the smaller side, can be a challenge to adding goodies.

Just did a bunch of the same research after buying my 185BR last fall... The #1 response I got from folks who had an aftermarket swim platform installed was "it was the best thing we've ever added onto our boat." So I added one myself (along with every other type of add-on you can think of, quite frankly).

Guess what? My wife just made a comment the other day that the swim platform was the best add-on we've ever made to the boat! And I agree. $2500 may seem like a lot, but frankly it's a lot cheaper way to add a couple usable feet to your boat than to upgrade to a larger size. And you get a whole new "station" to hang out at in your boat! We just love it... From swimming, to fishing, to just hanging out back there. It's transformed our boat experience.

Good luck. Whatever you do, you'll love, I'm sure! All my add-ons were good ones... e.g., Trim tabs, 4-blade low-pitch prop, depth finder, GPS speedo, mid-ship cleats, LED lights, all-new Fusion stereo, dual batteries, swim platform, the list goes on & on...

On swim platforms: kids riding on the platforms were being overcome by monoxide, a poison, from the engine's exhaust. This prompted the distribution of the warnings which WA State requires to be prominently posted. It also was the incentive for manufacturers to start offering catalytic converters which transform poisonous monoxide into merely suffocating dioxide. On the other hand, teenagers often form lasting relationships back there and one or both of them may move out, if you're lucky.

I have a 210 BR and did a Peanut switch (Control panel replacement) last year with the FP marine replacement. Expensive ((900.00+) but OEM replacements are no longer made and prefer the toggles. Came out great and took about 3 hours. https://fpmarine.com/peanut-rectangle-200-220sd-215-225we-240-260-sundancer-03-04/

I have the 74 sv also. Love it. Mounted right above gauges on dash

A 17" pitch prop and a rudder position indicator. Be very careful with the electrical work starting with getting a full schematic and an expensive crimper. The fold out schematic for my 2003 Select 200 was in the back of the owners' manual I got on Ebay. Down loads won't do. Forget about the radio as you have a cell phone. The rudder position indicator is tough as you really need to have the hatch all the way up and think it through. Don't mess with the safety lights as the colored glass was built for the physical bulb size. The swim platform is the real advantage of an I/O but there are mistakes to be made so why not let the marina do it? SS and through bolting is good but SS lags need wood for purchase so your pilot hole better produce wood chips or plan on patching it and trying a different location. The kind people at Searay will tell you if you have a plywood transom. A very good ladder with large treads that won't hurt the feet of the indescribable future you. GPS speedo for sure!
