I am getting ready to change out my old Norcold de461 with a Vitrifrigo 2600i. From what I have read on the form I am going to have to make a spacer to go around the refrigerator, but looking at the specs on the two I do not under stand why the vitrifrigo will not fit flush in the cabinet . Can someone please expain to me what I am missing if anything ? Thanks for any help

Hey Josh:

I'm watching out of interest, but the biggest issues I have seen are

1. What is behind the fridge near the bottom. The Fridge is set in at and angle and can prevent the fridge from sliding in. You can pull your existing fridge out and get some measurements. I have used a milk crate to keep the fridge at the right height, and have been able to do the job single handed.

2. Width of the fridge. Based on published measurements, the Vitrifrigo is about 3/16" wider than the old Norcold. In my boat getting the original fridge in/out was a huge undertaking as the cabinet cut out was slightly smaller than the actual fridge, in several spots. I had to shave those high spots down to allow it to fit in beyond the mounting flange.

Measure, but I think if the cabinet is wide enough it should slide right in. There is enough variability in Sea Rays that you need to measure and make some game time decisions.

Keep us posted. I'm interested in how you like the Vitrifrigo unit, thetre is very little feedback on how these work for people.

Im considering that exact unit, the Isotherm Cruise 195 and a Nova Kool RFU9000/9200. I'm considering the dual compressor units as my family would love the ability to keep ice cream on board.

I just did a full guy out of my 38DA 2006.
I need the new refrigerator but would also like to know how to remove the freezer? I can’t seem to get it out.
