1999 340 questions. Help?

Hello anyone, i am having a 1999 340 dancer surveyed tomorrow. I noticed a lot of cracks in the swim platform, is this normal? . What else should i look for?

No, cracks are not normal. That being said mine does have a couple around the corners. Just spiderwebs in the gelcoat, nothing structural. Sometimes things happen...

Extensive cracks in the swim platform would suggest to me that perhaps it was backed into something, depending on the "layout" of the cracks.

Or it coulld be water got into the structure. I believe there is a wood core in those platforms.

Look at bolts on ext manifold to head see how rusred over they are the more rust encased the hotter the engine was run. If you can get scoket on the nuts it should be all right. Bring strong lite and 6 to 9 inch hand held miror. To have marina change ext system both engines in NJ around $10,000.00

The cracks are where the platform meets the transom. I think there have might have been a dingy on the boat at one time as there is some unexplained hardware under platform. The platform seems solid, moisture test will tell tomorrow. As to the manifolds, they look ok, i will inspect further. Thanks to all and all info aapreciated

So the survey was done. We found lots of moisture in the deck among numerous other problems. Sad to say i had to pass. We are still looking for a good 340 dancer 1996-2000 with MPI,s and a gen set. If anyone knows. Of one near MI let me know. There is a local marina here that has one that sunk on a sand bar here in st clair. They replaced both motors and gen. I might look into it further, but my gut tells me to stay away ?? Thanks for the replies.
