1999 270 sundancer purchase

Now you have me scared and looking at manifolds and risers. I think just to b safe I'm gunna change them I was looking at the perf protech. Cast iron with the electro deposit. Ever hear anything on them. I hear the aluminum is a bad idea. While I'm on the subject anybody have torque specs for manifolds to block and manifolds to riser? There goes my cosmetic work on the dash

I went down the same road concerning exhaust manifolds. They are the weakest link. I know nothing about pro tech, myself I stick with genuine mercruiser they aren't cheap but you get what you pay for. There are tons of info on this forum and others with all the info you need to do the job. I removed my risers and inspected them. When reinstalling it use the graphite gasket for sure. The job is not a big deal if the bolts come off without a fight and that's a big if.

Again thanks for the help everyone really appreciated. I'm getting myself a little to worked up over nothing. I'm just gunna wait till the spring pop off the risers and spacer and inspect and atleast change the gaskets. What should I look for when inspecting? Other than that I think I asked just about everything I could think of until I start using it. Can't wait til spring you give somebody 27k just to stair at it for 4 months it's killing me lol I just wana usr it. Does anybody know or hear of anything about aquapooluza in zachs bay south shore long island this upcoming year. I had my jet boat there last year and had a blast

Hey iam in the market and was looking at the 290 and decided to go with the 270. Only because it had everything the bigger boat has but can fit in tighter spaces. And with twin 4.3. Better manouverbility and more HP then a single screw in this size boat. With 3 small kids I want 2 motors. Also cheaper drives then the bigger motors. So I have a payment down on one in Florida for 12,900. I couldn’t believe the price. My uncle lives there and is gonna take it for a spin this Saturday. He is not a surveyor but a lifetime boater (34 inboard Searay guy). The interior outside looks like it need replacing soon.but otherwise looks like every other one.So I was wondering if any body had any info on this twin carb motors. Does anyone have one w twins? I was gonna buy a new trailer and go bring it back to LI if boat was running good. I went on one 99 270 up here this week to make sure I liked the layout, the guy wanted 26k and his dog ate all the walls and cabin door, also didn’t have a/c and a windless. This is why I was going ahead on the one in Florida.

I have a 2000 270 SD and have owned it for 15 years. Twin engines is the way to go. I have the TBI fuel injection so a little more power but yours will be fine. I've redone the cockpit upholstery and canvas. The only thing I miss is the arch, mine doesn't have it but I've seen it on some 270's and it gives you a place for antennas and rod holders. I'm on the GSB and find the boat handles well. Good luck with the boat!

So uncle went to seeit and the interior is shot. Lots of growth on it but couldn’t leave too take for ride. He put motors in and out of gear but didn’t leave the whips. The guy said 11,but with a 7g interior and who knows what drive issues Your gonna have, besides manifolds risers and tuneups, it was starting to sound very expensive to gamble on this boat without seeing if the bottom is scratched. Iam still up in the air with making the move. Still in talks though. This is besides a 2500 shipping cost or a 6200 Trailer and long drive.

Anyone with twins wanna sell there boat?
