I'm looking to replace the snap-in cockpit carpet in my '99 270DA. I'm working with Custom Marine Carpet (worked with them in the past and they are great), but they only have a template for a '98 or a '00. Which of these, if either, will be the right template for my '99?

All three should be the same if it is the 9'2" beam.

Unless you can verify with them that the '98 was a wide beam DA and not an SE I would go with the '00 pattern since I believe that year the 9'2" beam 270DA was the only model available (no SE offered in '00) and would be the same floor plan as the '99.

When I ordered through them for my '98 270, they were able to send me a picture of the carpet layout to confirm it was correct. You should be able to ask for this just to confirm it matches to your boat.

They sent me the line drawing for both the ’98 and the ’00-’01. Both look almost identical to what I have currently, though each has two minor differences. I asked them if they have dimensions for them so I can confirm the dimensions are correct.

I would appreciate your sharing what you find out, and how your project turns out. We are going to have to do something soon on our '99 270DA 9.2" beam. I can not stand the black backing debris much longer.

Thanks

I heard back and they don’t have dimensions for their patterns, so I might just have to go out on a $600 limb and see what happens. Both the ’98 and the ’00-’01 patterns they sent look like they will work, so I’ll likely choose the ’00-’01 pattern and give it a go. I’ll keep you posted on the results as they come to fruition.

Totally understand the black backing problem! My ’02 Sundeck had that issue which led me to replace that carpet, only to sell the boat before it had even made it out of the garage with the new carpet. My current carpet has the updated NuWave backing on it, so that isn’t an issue, but the carpet itself is very worn and tired, so I’m just trying to freshen up the cockpit some.

Go with Corinthian. They're in Portland and I could not be happier with their product. If I were to do it all over again, I'd just change my template to be wall to wall and eliminate the snaps. Frank W and others did that and I think it's a great idea.

They also have a 15% off special for Sea Ray owners going on right now.

Thanks for the info Todd. I just shot them a note to check pricing and availability of my template. For the wall to wall option, I assume you'd still have a separate piece for the engine hatch? Would you keep those snaps to hold that piece in place? I like the idea of wall to wall, as well as extending it under the rear bench seat.

Uppy, You need to contact them and they will send you material to make a template from. You then set it up to how you want it, send it to them, and they will make it custom for you.

Exactly what I was thinking.
