1999 270 DA w/ twin 4.3L

hello,

Looking at purchasing a 1999 270DA, listed with twin 4.3L, approx 800 hrs. Question is whether in 1999 they flipped to MPI or were they still carbureted engines? Also any general concerns with the 4.3L? I will be requesting maintenance history etc, and requesting a marine survey prior to purchase.

It could be either. Although in '99 it would still be an EFI system, not an MPI system.

V6's are a solid engine.

My 1997 vintage 7.4's are MPI. I'd be a bit shocked if there were any carb'd motors still in-use by 1999??

Carb'd engines were used well after this time period, as well. But he has V6's. Although even the 7.4's were available as carb'd, EFI or MPI around this time.

Mine were carb'd 4.3L 190 HP. Always wished they were 5.0 L EFI's
