Hello,

Just a little background (because I don't want to anyone’s valuable time). In my quest to find parts for my 1998 open bow 180, I have done my homework to an extent.

Of course I tried the easiest first and checked some of the largest boating parts/dealer’s web sites and various other areas of the internet, but to no avail.

On the Sea Ray website I have located my parts manual and the parts I need. The parts I am looking for are: 1085992, Quantity 2, Parts List Description: Emblem Oval w/*Sea Ray Script Urethane (it is the black and gold oval Sea Ray raised emblem decal on both the port and starboard side right in the middle of the boat).

The second part is: 0881318, Quantity 1, Parts List Description: Vent Drain Black 5 5/8 Round w/oval pull (it is the black plastic vent cover/with oval hole, which allows you to pull up the removable floorboard (the one where we all put the orange CG approved life vests). What a bad design. With a shoe on it’s no big deal, because the surface area across the plastic grate covers it. But by gosh… you take your shoes off on the boat (go figure, who would ever do such a thing while on the lake doing water sports) and anyone with a barefoot will put their heel through it (which is what really happened from a 160 pound teenager).

In regards to the vent drain; I have seen prior posts from 2010 in which they were seeking the same part for their 175 (I’m sure it’s the same well designed plastic part). However, those that posted were just seeking a part description and/or part number.

So I called the closest Sea Ray Dealer which is a couple of hours away in Bakersfield. The parts person attempted to locate the parts but was not successful. He said that traditionally what Sea Ray does is stock parts for models about 10 years back, then they will sell out the inventory until they are gone. His suggestion was to contact Sea Ray directly to see if they will give me the direct manufacturer of those particular parts. As for today… and due to my time zone and hour Sea Ray is closed.

Question: Has anyone been successful at obtaining such information from Sea Ray?

Question: If not, does anyone possibly know where I would be able to locate these parts?

Thanks in advance for your time and any help.

Jason
