Hello.

I have some 1998 Sea Ray 180BR questions:

1.) What is the best gelcoat option to re-coat an 180BR - What type of white is it and brand of gel-coat? I am trying to re-coat the hull and fix an approx. 8 inch hair crack that appeared in the bottom of the hull.

2.) Where can I find the decals for a 1998 Sea Ray 180BR?

Thank you!!!

Are you wanting to spray the entire bottom? Unless you're a professional auto body technician with experience in painting large panels, that's best left to the pros. The other option would be to paint it.

Fixing small areas can be done by contacting Spectrum Color to obtain small amounts of color matched gel for your boat.

The only place to get decals would be a Sea Ray dealer (or possibly flea-bay). It may be tough, though, as the boat is 11 years old. More than likely your best bet would be to have a graphics shop make you some.

There's more than a few threads already on this forum about your questions. If you need more info, try using the search tool. More than likely, you'll find that the answers you seek are already out there. Plus, you'll probably learn something along the way while reading through other posts (I do, anyways).

Dennis,

Thank you for your response! Entire bottom - yes....wondering how much it would cost (ballpark) for a 180BR.

...will do more searches to get smart on gelcoat/paint pros/cons.

...Again - thank you!

Joe

I'll ask our gel guy about how long it would take him to shoot the hull of an 18 footer. If you don't hear back from me by 5:00 (eastern), PM me to remind me.
