scared to write this in fear of jinxing myself but here goes. I changed plugs, wires, and so on ( a tune up) ~4 years ago and she's been running perfect. Would you bother with changing the plugs and everything else mentioned and that goes along with a tune up just for the hell of it? so far I've put about 300 hours on this stuff. Doesn't seem necessary to me but I would rather over maintain than neglect. but I do change the engine oil and filter, pull the drive, change gear lube, change fuel filter every fall. also only run 89 octane Valvetech fuel.
Thanks, Jason

I would remove / inspect each plug for proper burn. Replacing them could not hurt. Use never seize and torque correctly. If the wires are still pliable, I see no need to spend the money.

300 hours in 4 seasons in your area is a lot of boating. Good for you. :smt038

Ok thanks I'll have my mechanic check them out this fall and probably just replace them if he already has them out to inspect. Same goes for wires see what he thinks of their condition.

As far as the hours I have this problem of wanting to drive the boat more than be anchored. Went out last weekend starting Friday late morning with 643 hours and now at 652 as of Sunday evening when I put her away. I think i have an addiction problem to running the boat too much. ha ha. Fuel here at the marina is $3.22 a gallon.

2 rules of thought

1]If it isn't broke don't screw with it

2] Keep screwing with it until its broke
