Looking to purchase a 370 Sundancer 1998. Been reading about sea water pickup and engine replacements on this model I will have an extensive survey preformed but should I be worried? A freshwater boat that looks to have been well maintained. Going for sea trial thus weekend, what questions should I ask? Any help would be appreciated.

there is an Official 370 thread and the people in that group would have a lot of knowledge with your boat. If they are the log style muffler ( i believe thats the name ) they were know for water ingestion causing engine damage

good luck on your purchase my 370 is older but i love it

I will repeat the advice to read the entire 'official 370 Sundancer' thread as it has a ton of information on this issue. The issue has to do with the 454 engine valve timing and the configuration of the log-style mufflers. Even though most 1998 370's have the water-lift mufflers that is not the entire cure.

The 370 is one of Sea Ray's most popular models and the thread here is one of the longest. For visible comparisons of the model over the years, you can also check out my site www.370sundancer.com.
