is it possible to to remove and replace the Gen without removing the Port Engine?
would i have enough room if i just removed the Port Riser...?

What's wrong with it?

In looking at the paperwork that came with my 98 290 when the PO had the generator rebuilt the engine came out to remove. My 1st had experience just to do an oil and filter change on the generator...... that motor is coming out to get that hunk of mechanical wizardry out of there.

I was afraid of that... I think I'll use a portable Gen set till I can figure out how i can get my hands on a gantry.

What's wrong with it? I think you can remove/repair most items while it's in the hole.

Head gasket/oil seals are another story.
