twin 5.7 w/alpha drives
I haven’t posted before so here goes the question. The 290 has both engines shot so I have two in the box rebuilds. Getting too old to restore it myself so would it be best to part it out, sell as a project or what. Interior is in very good shape along with the generator. Exposed seats are not good been in the weather too long.

Ideas?

Do you definitely not want to keep the boat? I would think a local rebuild, even on two engines, not too bad. We had a 98 290 with twin 5.7’s as well and I had one engine rebuilt after it blew a head gasket and torched the block - I want to say I was around $3,500 total for the job

if you’re wanting to get out of the boat I’d try to sell it as a project. Parting out would likely yield a little better return but that sounds like a pain, and you’re bound to be left with a hull and a bunch of stuff no one wants that you then have to pay to dispose of.

I would fix it. Would love to have that boat

Sell as a pkg. 2 fresh engines that need to be installed?
Yep both in the box need all the goodie’s installed from the old motors. Drives were rebuilt some time ago. Triple axle trailers needs new tires. Camper canvas is good so I may try to sell as a project boat

What did you decide to do with the boat? I recently bought a 2001 290 Sundancer and need a few parts and canvas.
