Hello all,

I was gifted this boat from my uncle and he was the only owner. I am not sure of the hours, but I know it is below 100 as they never used it. The problem is just that, it was never used. It sat on a boat lift and baked in the Florida sun. There was also a leak in the cabin and the interior has to be removed. I am not sure of how bad the electrical is, so there will be a lot of troubleshooting ahead.

The engine is another story, once I get it home next week, I will start the break down process. I am thinking it may be a total loss, but not sure right now as it has not run in 6 years. Hopefully the drive is fine and will just need a tune up.

The gel coat is shot as it was never covered for 20 years and had minimal maintenance. The good thing is that the hull is in perfect condition, it really never saw water.

So, a few questions.

1. What is the best resource for parts? Websites?

2. What is the most reliable website to buy the full manual? Engine manual?

3. Are there wiring diagrams?

4. What is the best product for the gel coat?

This will be a weekend and night project as life and work are always in the way! I will post some pictures when I get her into the garage. I need to find a trailer first as she is still stuck on her perch on the boat lift, then I need a tow ofcourse! Thanks all for any information you may have.

For parts, fpmarine, eBay, or your Sea Ray dealer.

I have found most of the Mercruiser manuals online from different websites with a Google search. The manual you will want is #17 and/or #24 for your 5.7L.

Wiring diagrams can usually be found in the owners manuals which are available on the Sea Ray website under owners resources.

For the gel coat I would buff it with Buff Magic and then use your favorite wax.

Welcome to CSR!

Thank you JimG. I appreciate the information. I did find the part numbers on the sea ray website, but for some reason there was no manual available for my model. Maybe they have a similar year, I will have to continue to research.
