Hello all,

I'm looking for some help with a very annoying problem with my 185 sport. I spent a week on Lake Norris in TN and had a problem starting every morning. When I first arrived, the boat started with no problems at all. It ran all day and no problems at all (stop and start for lunch and dinner and it's all good). However, the next morning, I ran into problems. At first, the engine turned right over and ran for 10-15 seconds then it died. When I tried again, it just cranked but wouldn't start. I tried a variety of things (turned blower on, flipped kill switch off/on, pumped the throttle, cranked ignition for 10-15 seconds, etc) but nothing seemed to work. Finally, after about 25 minutes of tinkering like this, it started. The odd thing is that this happend every single day, like clock work. The boat runs all day but the next morning, I go through the same ritual and I can't really tell what actually works or why it suddenly starts again. Finally on the last day, I had my nephew sleep in the boat and he started it every 4 hours or so, and it was fine. When I returned home from the trip, the boat sat in my garage for about 3 weeks before I could get out again. When I got to the launch, it started right up without any problems. However, the next day when I started out again, the same problem. It starts right away, then dies after 10-15 seconds and won't start again for some time.

Has anyone else ever had this issue? Is there something simple I'm missing? I can't believe it would be vapor lock happening this consistently. I had the choke replaced and that didn't fix the issue.
Ideas?

Thanks
