Hello guys my name is Giovanni, I want to apologize to anyone if I double posted something that may be already here but I couldn't find anything specific about my issue.

I'm new to boating and I really don't understand how this refrigerator works or been able to find out what model is it. I know is a norcold but not sure what series. Anyway Every time I plug my shore power everything in the boat including air works. Now once I disconnect my shore the only things I have available on battery is lights radio and the water pump for the sink and etc.

On my main panel switch shows a button that says AC converter I believe so I've been trying to figure out if my refrigerator and my AC should be working even when not connected to shore? I want to anticipate that I don't have a generator.
I'm just really young and can t find a clear answer on the web. I'll thank all of you for you help in advance.

Your refrigerator should work on either battery or AC power. The AC converter converts AC to 12V to charge batteries.

So why the refrigerator doesmt turn on while only on battery?

If things are set up properly, when you unhook from shore power, it automatically swaps over to DC. You should have a breaker for 110v and 12v. Make sure they are turned on.

Thank you Bennett .
Where would this breaker be on th is boat I wish I knew more. I 've just been looking for a switch but can't find it.
Would it be in the main panel? Or engine comp?

Welcome to CSR.

As stated above you should have 2 electrical panels side by side one labeled AC and one labeled DC.

I believe the refrigerator should have a switch on both. Turn both to the "ON" position and you will be good to go. When you disconnect from shore power it will automatically change over to DC if everything is working correctly.

The AC Converter switch is for your battery charger/maintainer. I leave mine in the"ON" position so when I'm connected to shore power or when I turn my generator on, my batteries will charge.

If you post up a good picture of your electrical panel we may be able to assist with a bit more detail.

on my 95 290 there is a 120 switch/breaker on the 120 panel just like the pictures, there also is a switch on the refridgerator that needs to be turned on also to work on 120 or 12v. when off of shore power the 12v rocker on the dash needs to be turned on to work on 12v. if its not on it will not work on 12v. If the 12v rocker on dash is on when hooked to shore power it will be running on 12v which isn't a problem if your battery charger is on. Your fridge will not switch to 12v when disconnected from 120v if the 12v rocker switch is not on on the dash!

So the rocker switch is the one that says REFRIG?
