I am about to make a trip to look at a 1994 Searay 330 EC that looks and sounds to be in immaculate condition. Interior has been updated with leather and outside looks to be very clean from the pictures. The 7.4 mercruisers has 858 hrs each which does worry me. How many hours should be expected out of these engines if maintained properly?
I should be able to purchase this boat for about $28K or $29K which does seem to be a very good price when searching around.
Please advise.

Thanks,
Jeff

If the engines are fresh water cooled and the maintenance has been steady and documented 1500 hours would not be beyond reasonable expectation.

1500 hrs would not be out of the question if RWC if in fresh water and properly maintained....but we don't know where you or the boat is.

I bought our '94 370 last fall with just over 800 hours. Had the survey done and came back good. When I brought her home the new mechanic at our marina knew the boat from it's old home. He told me the same as Sprink & Quint suggested and I also was fortunate enough to have his insight into how the engines had been maintained. ( I would say with reasonable care) Her first 8 years or so were in salt water and the last 6 or so in fresh.
