Hi Everyone

I have a 1994 Searay Sundancer 230 and was thinking of putting a lounger pad on my bow so wife and kids can play and tan.

Has anyone done that or does anyone know where I can get those cushions/pads to put there?

Thanks so much
Mark

Best bet is to have a local upholsterer make them for you. Maybe make them so they fold in thirds (accordion style) for easier storage. For safety, don't let anyone up there (especially kids) while underway - even just putzin' along. A 23' boat is too small to be stable enough with wakes and waves.

Hi Lazy Daze

Thanks so much for the input. I was wondering what material you would think is best...I would also think snaps so the cushions stay on the bow when underway or the kids are playing on it. Do you think an upholsterer would be able to do that kind of work?

How would be the best way to measure it in order to pass onto an upholsterer or do you know anywhere online that would have those specific measurements.

Thanks again

Material choice is totally your call. Vinyl is easy and problem considered the "standard" in the industry for something like this. But you can also use an outdoor fabric such as Sunbrella.

What an upholsterer will do/won't do runs the gamut of possibilities. Call around and talk to them. Snaps on deck are a possibility, but of course you open the water intrusion scenario. You might want to look into an adhesive backed snap like the SNAD from YKK.

If you can't get your boat to the upholsterer, you'll need to make a template for the size you want. I doubt you'll find anything online already made to your exact dimensions - this was never an option on this boat. You may find some generic-fit pads online, though - just start googling.

Or... just get a couple yoga mats or pool floats to lay on and keep the "running around" off the foredeck.
