I have a 1994 400EC and the water heater has a leak. I need to replace it and it looks like I will have to pull the engine to remove and replace it. Does anyone have any information on a procedure for removing and replacing the water heater in the 400EC? Thanks, Pauly

PIX? Never seen an ER of a 400EC. I know on a 310/330 DA, the manifold has to be removed to get the water heater out, but not the whole engine.

I had the water heater replaced in my 1994 400EC this past season. The marina took care of it for me.I was told that after removal of the manifold and riser from the outboard side of the engine, they were able to access the heater and maneuver it to the front of the motor and remove it without pulling the engine. It is possible that some other brackets or accessories had to be removed or loosened on the front of the motor to give proper clearance, but it was done that way.
I was going to do it myself, but just did not have the time.

If memory serves me, it is an 11 gallon heater. 2 - 6 gallon heaters would be problematic due to space limitations.
