S.C. SUNDANCER

Hello all, my name is Brandon Askins. I live in Summerville, SC. I have been lurking on this forum for a while now and I decided I would share my project with you all. I have a 1994 330 Sundancer and I am going to do a complete refurbishment. I have currently removed 95% of the interior, 95% of the cockpit. I had a leaking starboard fuel tank that I have removed and fixed and reinstalled. If you guys would like to watch my progress, ask questions, or offer suggestions. Feel free to do so! I have started a video documentary of the restoration on YouTube. The videos are listed from the newest to the oldest, which is obviously not right for a how to guide but I can't figure out how to change it!! Join me! Www.youtube.com/user/The330Sundancer

It may be too late to suggest and I am sure you considered replacing the tank with new vs. repairing the old. Just too much work and too much risk when it comes something as dangerous as gasoline.

Welcome aboard! I look forward to watching the videos! That's quite an undertaking!! Good luck with the rest of the project!

Hey hottoddie, I have actually already reinstalled it. With a 1/4" plate welded all the way down the bottom and 8 inches up the ends I am confident it will never leak again. Couple that with the 1/8" or so coating of "line-x". I also inspected the inside of the tank with a bore scope there are no signs of corrosion on the inside. It held 3 psi for almost a week. The local surveyor was good with it also. Thanks for your input though!

SC didn't mean to be too critical. I'm just one of those guys that fix things before they need fixing. Good luck with rest. #1 improvement for those (and most other boats ) is to upsize the trim tabs for better visibility, economy, comfort and safety.

Not taken as too critical at all! I appreciate your input!

I need a picture of the slide rails that hold the hatch cover above the cabin door if any of you guys have one.

Good luck with the restoration - I've been down this road more than once....

You have a similar boat to my 340, and I would be happy to help, if you need it.

Thanks for the warm welcomes! Pietro I am at he fun part right now, planning and deconstruction are fun and cheap!

I found the vitrifrigo c115iac refrigerator that replaces my norcold on sale for $787! This deal runs thru the end of Feb. everybody else wants $985-$1200.

Well since I have the exact boat I will be one of your main followers! Good Luck. I'll be especailly interested in what you do with the carpet / floor cover replacement. My boat was a repo so I have very little history and all the manuals were removed from the boat.

Hey Alki! I hope I can provide you something useful to watch!! Can you send me a picture of the hardware that the cabin door cover slides on? Mine was missing and I don't even know what it looks like.

Do you mean the upper part, that the cover slides up and back on?, I am going down to my boat this arvo, will try and remember to grab a couple of snaps
